Terri Poland grew up in central Michigan on her grandfather’s farm. She always hoped and dreamed of having her own horses. That dream became a reality when her daughter, Brittni, fell in love with the sport in 2003 when she joined United States Pony Club (USPC). Since then, Terri has become a successful business woman in the horse world frequently traveling, hauling, buying and selling horses - producing several successful strings of competition horses. In 2018 Terri and her husband, Dan, purchased 25 acres in Leesburg, VA which they converted into Broad Shadow Farms, LLC — a private boarding facility. She prides herself on high quality horse care. No detail is too small, and the horses’ happiness and comfort always comes first.
Madison Foote joins Terri Poland in the day to day operations of Broad Shadow Farms. Madison comes with 20+ years of riding and extensive industry knowledge. She grew up on a Michigan Farm riding at her family’s personal facilities – Shoeman Road Farm. After having a successful childhood of riding and competing Madison chose to stay in the horse industry. She continued her education through a hands-on approach before returning back to the family farm to create her own teaching and training program. Years later, Madison had to say goodbye to her beloved facility and look for the next chapter in her training/teaching/competition career. After competeing all over the East Coast for two years Madison has settled back down into Broad Shadow Farms.
